We’re all going to die one day.
For me the fact that someday I will die is a huge motivator to me.
I’m not sure what happens after death and I don’t claim to know.
It shows me that I should live life to the fullest to grab opportunities when I can.
To enjoy the brief space I have on this planet. It helps me push aside my ego in certain situations, knowing that one day it won’t matter.
It helps me strive toward my maximum potential.
For me being on this earth is to maximise my potential, to live well and to help others.
What consists of you living well? It’s different for everyone. Travel, reading and experiences have helped me learn about myself and find out these things.
Take action towards the ideal vision you have of yourself in your head and let your mortality help by giving you a sense of urgency.
Take risks so you at least have a chance to get what you want as it’s always better to act and mess up then to regret.
Make time for what you truly love doing and learning skills you want to achieve mastery over.
Remember all fears pale into comparison with death.
Once you are okay with the truth that there will be a time where your body will not be here anymore other fears become less scary. As you know that the pain that comes with pushing through those fears will be no more one day and what counts is having the most fulfilling experience in between.
Samurai’s used to live this way as did great leaders like Malcolm X and Mahatma Gandhi.
Living as if their already dead.
This really makes you embrace the moment.
To me this is the best way to live risking it all in each moment. As this moment is all their ever is.
