Everyone has this ideal life that they want to live up to.
It might include things like giving up alcohol, eating healthy, being consistent with the gym.
The problem is that people will use terms like I’ll try or I should.
This isn’t good enough.
This isn’t a clear decision.
I used to be like that until my changes became musts and then habits changed and momentum was built. There is no clarity in saying that and that means a mind divided so you won’t be able to focus your energy to actually make that change.
You need to change the language you use to help you make that change. It can make a difference. Think of it as a must not a choice.
This is how you will actually achieve your goals as there is no way you cannot achieve them. It’s do or do not there is no try as the great Yoda once said ;).
When you make it a must you feel like you have to achieve and you have to make a change. This will propel you to actually doing it. Instead of having an option to get away from it. It’s like going cold turkey instead of reducing the amount of something that u want to give up.
Reducing is good but there’s always more of a chance of relapse because your ‘trying’ to get rid of it. Cold turkey is making it a must and cutting it out completely so you are way more likely to succeed because of that.
Musts will turn you into the person that you always wanted to be.
This is what separates extraordinary people from the ordinary folk.
Champions do what they need to do regardless of how they are feeling and this makes sure that they are on track with becoming the person they want to be.
Average people go back and forth with their habits changes and never make it obligatory so it never becomes a part of them.
This cycle continues and they never actually grow.
Habits are hard to change you need all the leverage you can get.
You need to cut off every angle you can slip at.
Any drip is potential failure and lack of clarity.
Make it powerful, make it a must, go with all your heart and become that person you want to be.
The best time to start is always now and your future self will be grateful for that.
